I have just e-mailed redwings about 24 horses my sister and I saw yesterday, in VERY poor condition in a waterlogged field. They were so short of food that they have eaten all the leaves off a privet hedge. There is rubbish all over the field (including corroded metal pipe stuck up!) We went back today to take photo's and there was some hay in the field (about enough for a day for a quater of the horses in there). They are all between 13.2hh and 15.2hh, mostly youngsters. About five years ago there were some stolen horses "dumped" in this same field, we think the same man is still using this land, he is not known for keeping horses. I am not keen on posting the exact address as I am not sure about the legalities etc, also don't want them to vannish! Just wanted to share this as I am so worried about these thin and filthy animals

I think its great that you have contacted an organisation that may be able to intervene.

Now-just keep on at them

...and keep on at them again .
If we all become vigilant, we can make a difference.

We have a dealer who keeps her horses on a main road field in full view-fortunately.

She can't breath without someone knowing what she is doing. The rspca have made frequent visits to her fields (and have acted in circumstances) and she knows her horses are being constantly watched.

The funny thing is, that she thinks that she is doing the horse world a great service by taking these horses that no-one else will bother with.

We are all ready to report her at the drop of a hat. Eventually she may get fed up, we hope.
