I have seen so many people going out in their horse boxes for pleasure and beach rides on fb, people have pointed out this is not essential travel, even tier 3 should be essential travel only. You can attend to your livestock. The point of non essential travel is to keep as many people off the roads as possible so that car accidents are minimal and to keep the infection contained.

If you have to travel to provide care for your animals then it should be straight there and back, no detours.

If there is any way of not having to care for them ie- full livery or friends and family that could look after them then there really isn’t a legitimate reason for leaving a tier 4 area, and going into a tier 3 one.

Looking after your horses is essential travel and you are perfectly entitled to do it.
Common sense must prevail and if the OP is travelling to and from the yard, not stopping anywhere and being very careful when at the yard, they won’t be causing harm.

The question was about traveling horses to arena hire rather than caring for them. I don’t think anyone is advising horses shouldn’t be fed / had basic care needs met.

That’s not what was asked though.

They are necessary reasons.

Work - can’t work from home
Horse - DIY livery yard
Partner - well I’m sure that speaks for itself considering I live alone ?

so on the question can you travel between tiers the answer is yes

Not your reasons, the OPs reasons - the reason they asked about was traveling a horse to arena hires in tier 3 if you live in tier four.

OP’s question wasn’t “can you travel between tiers”.

The question was, if the horses are in tier 3, can they be taken to arena hires and traveled even though the owner lives in tier 4.

I’m trying to organise a two day clinic at the moment, first day is in T4 and second day is T3. A couple of people in T4 have booked onto the second day ie in T3 - have had to cancel and refund them as I think looking at guidance no travel for arena hire/clinics outside of T4 is allowed.
