Also in Latest News but more people come in here and everyone needs to be vigilant.

This is not far from me, far too close for comfort:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/7495985.stm

My thoughts go out to the family who have to cope with it.

Sad thing is, if whoever did it is ever caught which, let's face it, they won't be as those killed are just horses, they'll get away with a slap on the wrist or, at most, a criminal damage type charge. If anybody did this to mine, they'd find out exactly what it felt like to be stabbed.

That is disgusting.

I agree, if they stabbers get caught, they will just get a slap on the wrist and told not to be naughty again.

Killing is taking a life, whether it is animal or human it is still a life and they should get an appropriate punishment. I hope they catch them.

I agree, if somebody so much as touched one hair on my horse, I would go nuts.

There should be appropriate punishment for hurting animals.

There is a petition called Maggies Law which is calling for such punishment. Please sign it.

I think it is www.maggieslaw.co.uk

It made me feel sick to think about it. My blood ran cold when I saw where it was. It takes a lot of effort to stab someone to death and to do it twice is just madness. What would have happened if the family had turned up when they were there? It's not a big leap for someone in that frame of mind to turn on people.
I read an interview with one of the investigating officers involved with the case oif those two French students that were killed last week and he said it's not like the movies, people don't die instantly when they're stabbed so it takes a very sadistic/cold mind to do it. I hope whoever did it dies in a fire.

S&M - That doesn't surprise me, it's awful.

Llwyncwn - Go to the BBC website and look under Wales news, it's one of the top stories. It will be in the South East Wales bit. It's not something I want to read about but I wanted to make people aware, especially as there were two other horses stabbed in Wales recently.

they deserve to be strung up

Sh*t sh*t sh*t my horse is in Caerphilly, I only moved her there 2 weeks ago. I saw on the news last night that two ponies were stabbed in the eye - must be the ones in Nelso but thought they said Blackwood?. sick, this is very worrying.

It is very sad that there are people about that do these terrible things.

If the Police or Crown Prosecution Service refuse to prosecute or take action then the only solution is to take a civil action against the person(s) concerned.

This is in fact an easier option as the burden of proof is less for civil actions so it is easier to take action against the people responsible on this basis.

Oh, this is so sad! There are a lot of bad people out there. And the drink! the drink and the drugs, makes them all mad! Mad!
Bring back national service, that's what I say!

Deepest sympathies to families involved. I can't even imagine how I would feel.
I followed the link to Maggies Law page, and signed the petition. Least I can do.
