Moved the horses into electric fenced paddocks because there's so much grass.
One in each paddock, one sec D and one tb.
Gave them a massive bucket of water each, intending to fill it each day, but it's notgoing anywhere!
They seem to have drunk almost nothing, been nearly a week now! I've changed the water in case it was stale or whatever, still hardly drinking any.

There's no other water source, and although it's been wet, surely they need more than what is on the grass that they eat!

VERY confused!

Anyone else had this?

I would imagine if they are both not drinking, you can rule out anything wrong with them. I guess if they both look well and are happy they must be getting enough from their grazing? Are they usually big drinkers? (that sounds so wrong, but you know what I mean!)

There is a lot of water in good, fresh grass, so they probably don't need any extra - you only have to look at the sloppy green pooh that comes out to see they are getting plenty - actually, that's a point - have a look at their poo - if it's soft, you have absolutely nothing to worry about, but obviously, keep a constant supply of fresh water anyway.

I dont know because they usually have an automatic trough!

I just had one in at first and he wasn't drinking, so then thought I'd make another paddock for the other one (maternity leave, lots of time on my hands!) to see if they were both the same, and they are so like you say, made me a bit less worried though!

Just really really wierd!

Ooooh ps, when I was making the fence it zapped the dog, who then whipped round and attacked the fence, biting it while it was on then ran away yelping.........might not mention that on the other thread! :D :D

Try adding a little apple juice to the water to make it more tempting. My previous horse would not drink out of an auto filling water trough but would out of a bucket, yours may be the other way around and need a bit of encouragement!
