What would you do????

I recently moved to a new yard. Have a few groups of people that I'm getting to know and tend to drift between groups at the moment rather than having specific hacking mates.

I like to go out with 2 girls - they took me hunting a few weeks ago and get on well with them, but both of their horses have taken a dislike to mine

One of the horses lunged at mine today when we were out hacking and they're always pulling faces.

What do you think is the best way to handle it? I could go out with someone else but I like their company.

Thanks

Hope the owner reprimanded her horse! Lots of horses don't get on but when ridden they need manners and they shouldn't be allowed to lunge at other horse. In the field, fine they can hate each other but must behave when ridden.

Agree with the above, Murphy can be a bit grumpy but we just laugh it off, he's not allowed to bite/lunge but if he makes a face well lol thats just life.

So long as they arent killing each other it shouldnt be too much of a problem Im sure they'll get over it (lol as if they are kids lol)
xx

I would stick with it, keep your distance for the time being and the horses will get used to each other. A mare of mine is foul to other horses when out hacking, but I keep her well controlled and stop her from kicking and biting. Everyone knows what she is like, but because I am responsible it does not prevent me from having hacking friends.

If the girls are not controlling their horses, then just keep your distance and be safe, then you will all be ok
