errm, dunno really, probably not just a funny colour grey! that photo was taken last year and he's got a lot lighter since but he's got a lot of brown in him.
This was on saturday and he's looking pretty average grey.
Corroy is definately mine, she has taught me so much as still does. I have ridden loads of others, but I just don't get the same buzz as I do from riding her.
My current horse Louis is the horse of a lifetime for me, he's been a little rascal over the years but we have learnt so much together and he's such a smart little horse. We've grown up and matured together over the years and he's the horse that started my passion for dressage (even though I bought him as a showjumper!). I can'r imagine ever owning a horse as special as him ever again, he is a horse in a zillion!
tis a hard one between Santa and Dan but at this moment I would say Santa has it.
a randomly bred believed to be welsh sec D x Arab 14h1 gelding. Far from pretty but bought as a 5yo and went on to jump JA classes represent Jersey in showjumping and Dressage as well as being the junior BSJA team captain
Won my first BD points on him, competed in pony internationals (what has now become sheepgate festival but used to be at Addington then Hickstead back in 96-98 and had international competition incorporated). also did side saddle, polocrosse, cross country, hunting, mounted games and whatever else was thrown at him.
Still own him now and he has since I stopped riding him (about 8 years!) he has taught several kids the ropes
a few pics
Jersey BSJA team comp
Competing in 1996 at Festival for future stars at Addington on Jersey team
and how he looks when not under saddle! eg a bit of an ugly g!t who I think is stunning
It's nice to see someone remember the old ones! It's so easy to think your current horse(s) are the star and not remember the others! He looks and sounds a star!
least you can see the images ha ha as won't load on my comp at mo grrrr.
Yes he was and is very special, wouldn't be half the rider I am now if wasn't for him, had great fun and did so many things, he was never a world beater but he would give his all and had the ability to make a people eat their words afterall who would expect a small ploddy cobby pony to dawdle come in and jump a 1m50 wall
He is gorgous anyway! Don't know what you are talking about! I had a welsh cob when i was 12 who jumped 1.10 when i didn't ride well at all (not that i do now) he was fabby!!
trust me he raised some eyebrows especially when in fluffy mode at first.
He is very well known on the island now and have been lucky to be able to pick and choose who has ridden him since. Always wanted people to ride him who can learn from him rather than him being continually pushed to compete bigger and better.
Whats the best though is that I can go home and ride him and even though he hasn't done any proper dressage in years I can get him working almost immediately and I still know where the button for his awesome extended trot is, no feeling like it
