On Broadoak Lane.
Skewbald pony/youngster. Looks like a car has gone through the hedge and there is no fence between the field and road. I have stopped and herded it back in, used my car to block the hole and rang the police who have turned up and taken over, so I've left now. I've also rung a horsey friend based locally and she's ringing round to see if she can track down an owner. Any ideas???

Impressed that the police have shown up actually! I came across 4 loose horses on a road last week. They ran into someones large garden and I managed to keep them contained in there. The police took 4 hours to arrive. Their attitude seemed to be that they would turn up if the horses actually caused an accident. I lost out on £50 of work (not that I would have left them to get back out again) and was verbally abused by the owner of the garden (I understand his upset but there was no need to intimidate a young woman. Luckily I can take it, someone more timid might have had to leave and let the horses on the road again. His actions did get the police to respond a little more positively though!)
The police who came were actually very apologetic about it - it's the red tape.

Yes TBH I was surprised too, it was only 15 -20 mins from my call although I'm not entirely sure if he was dispatched or just pulled over as he was driving past as I was stopped in an odd place. Seemed a bit non plused when I explained why I was there!
