When I got my mare in October last year she was really thin and you could see her ribs. She has slowly gained weight over the winter but one of her ribs still really stands out.
I have attached a photo of when I first got her and one taken today and marked the rib that I am on about. Its low down that it stands out the most. http://www3.snapfish.co.uk/snapfish...sc=SHR/otsi=SPIClink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfishuk/
Is this normal as I have not seen another horse whos rib stands out like this, although it is the same on both sides.

I would have the vet look next time they come, presumably it causes no problems? It looks rather low for a normal rib if that makes any sense?

Thanks all for your comments.
I will get the vet to have a look next time they are out.
It/they dont seem to cause her a problem.
Brandy - I know what you mean about it seeming to be too low for a 'normal' rib and the bottom bit that sticks out is going the wrong way (backwards instead of forwards if that makes sense). But they are the same on both sides.
