The electric fence around the pond and very wet area of field is always getting pulled down by the sheep is there any way to stop them going threw it?.my horse never bothers with it.
Don't really want to put more permanent fence up as the border fence is already a good fence . The electric fence was to stop blue from going in the pond and keep him out of the bog.the sheep don't belong to me.Can you permanently fence off the area then?
will try the extra linesIn areas where I need to keep the sheep in my fence is six strands which includes two earth strands and four live ones. the earth strands (not attached to the live but with a lead going from them to the earth stake) give an extra belt when one of them and an earth strand are touched together. It also means you can get an extra non live strand right at the bottom of the posts where a live one would be able to be placed as it would earth out
In areas where the ponies cant have access but the sheep can I have two strands of tape and the sheep can walk under the lower one
I have sheep netting but I wouldnt have it around ponies as it would be easy for them to get a hoof through it. If using netting I would advise its used with an inner fence of tape to keep the horses away from it. In saying that my sheep walk under the netting like it itsnt even there anyway!
