My gelding is retired, hes only 9 but severe lower neck arthritis gave me no choice.
I've spent a fortune on him in December with work ups, lameness examinations and steriods but unfortunately nothing worked for more than 4 months. The specialist vet doesn't think he will be in any pain retired so plan is to keep him retired unless he suddenly becomes unhappy etc. Hes been retired for 2 months so far.
I've noticed (more so in the last week) hes got a funny movement in his front left shoulder especially when walking down hill. Almost like its dislocating, or clunking out of the joint, its quite obvious.
He doesn't look lame in himself and trotted down the field quite happy to see me.
I'd attach the video but for some reason it won't let me. I've sent it to my vet for his opinion. Happy to send the video on if anyones knowledgeable in that area or seen it before? I did see a study regarding shoulders moving this way but can't find it!
