Well it's defo the horses as just caught one in the act!!! I wouldn't think it is boredom as they come in daily and are worked and then have a good sized field to go in. They have always had trees nearby before but we have just moved and these are different trees. Will take some pics of them tomoz.

Be warned, the one doing it will 'teach' all the others to follow and then you will end up with a problem. OH had one that liked to do this and when mine and OH's were mixed the whole herd started to copy within weeks, not good if you have a landlord who likes his trees!! Ours do just like the taste of it!
