Horses to be classed as a vicious species?!

I think the article makes sense. I don't know of anyone who has been around horses for a decent length of time who has never been bitten or kicked. It is natural for horses to bite and kick, that's all they are saying. The insurance implications might be difficult.

Oh FGS!! Someone will sue bed manufacturers next for allowing me to get out of one!!!!! The world needs to get a grip!!!

How ridiculous! Any animal can bite unexpectadly, dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, anything with teeth in fact!
Lets class them all as vicious!!!!!!

As a priniple, I think this takes responsibility away from the humans once again and categorizes animals as vicious purely by nature! I hope reason and sense prevails! Perhaps kids shouldn't ever be near horses if they are naturally "vicious".

I think a distinction must be made between 'vicious' and 'dangerous' horses are definitely a dangerous species, horse riding is quite rightly classed as an extreme sport, but vicious, no. Horses can be vicious, in the sense that you can come across a right evil git occasionally, but I doubt I'd even class the worst (and she was truly dangerous) as vicious. I'd rather be in a pen with a 'vicious' horse than a big cat, great white, grizzly or polar bear, or bull.... Nope wrong classification to my mind.

They are not saying it is natural for horses to bite, they are saying they are vicious, not the same thing!!
Indeed! Would you describe all domestic pets (e.g. dogs, cats, rabbits) as vicious too? I think not, yet they are all capable of biting and scratching.

Personally, I think its very worrying that they are even considering if a whole species is vicious! Imagine the implications for horses!

Unbelievable! People need to take responsibility for their actions rather than constantly looking to lay blame. There's no mention of what provoked the horse to bite.

Maybe wasps should go on there too

Too blooming right!

Absolutely agree!

I cant imagine the implications, a couple of years ago a lady told me her grandaughter had been bitten by my horse. The whole story being that the grandaughters hand had a carrot in it at the time! He is now away from the roadside field..thank god but imagine how easy it would be with no fee solicitors on the prowl to run a few scams!
