I am really down at the minute, I cant get hold of the farrier for love nor money, My horse lost a shoe the other day so had a farrier just stick it back on as he was too busy for all 4. Then horse goes and loses the other front one.

He doesnt have rubbish feet he just is due for shoeing but the farrier is on holiday at the minute.

Then the next thing that annoyed me was that people was snapping at my friend who was doing my horse yesterday saying he was lame when she put him back in stable. And saying trot him up bla bla, he wasnt lame at all he was just bit sore from no shoe. Yes he is a bit mard.

But It annoyed me that they all started snapping at her saying she should ring the vet etc etc. God sorry rant over got a bit frustrated. I wouldnt mind but noone knew what leg he was supposodly lame on anyway :S

Dont you hate it when the whole yard just inteferes with your horse.

in one word YES! my old yard just seem to want to put everyone down, all of us young ones try really hard but nothing ever seemed good enough, when i was teaching poppy to jump they kept on interferring saying "my horse could walk over that" i sat an cryed

Gah its so annoying, I got very annoyed when I was told this morning. Friend said he wasnt lame at all but went up to check and he was fine.

I would take it on board if ppl knew what they was talking about but they really dont at all.

Oh dear, lots of know it all's in your yard then? I bet they wouldn't have said a dicky bird if you had been there?

I suppose you could say that they were looking out for you, but assess the situation first, hey!

My horse used to go dog lame when he lost a shoe, it never worried me because I knew him so well and knew he'd be fine once the shoe was replaced.

Chin up, you'll get it all sorted soon

I find the simplist thing to do with shoeing is to have a regular appointment. My horses are shod every 5 weeks. However, I also have a very good farrier who will call up within a day to put on a lost shoe should it be necessary.

As for interfering busy bodies - they may mean well, but yes it's very annoying.

Thanks

He doesnt go lame just a bit pussy footy as you can understand. But they said he was dog lame.
We do have lots of know it alls on my yard, no they would not have said anything if I was their. They all think they know peoples horses better than the owners.

Its frustrating though as I know my friend would not have just left him she knows what she is doing.

Well fingers crossed farrier is up early next week as he is back of his holidays. Thats a good sign

God how annoying, we do have interferring know-it-alls on our yard, but they are knowledgable interferring know-it-alls, so I usually dont mind, as they usually have a point! Im amazed they didnt know he was footsore! Anyway, hope you manage to get your big ponio sorted out soon enough, at least its nothing serious.

I agree they mean well but they couldnt even tell which leg he was lame on. They was guessing. Its the kind of people that dont know the front of the horse to the back.

I usually have a regular appointment but as ben was booked in when farrier is on holiday I had to just ring him to book him in again. He will be getting done early next week.

But another farrier said if he has a cancellation this week he will come up and do it for me as he is mega busy.

Thanks chick. They didnt even notice he didnt have front shoe on.
My friend said hes footsore to them but they wasnt having none of it,
Oh btw they are 18/20 year olds saying this.
