Horses with allergies

Im having terrible problems with my youngster at the moment poor boy is covered yet again in lumps, which keep getting infected, hes been on antibiotics now on and off for about two months. Vets been out numerous times, they cleared up a few days but have come back with a vengence.
We are keeping a chart of all he eats to see if theres any link.

Anyway i was wondering if people whoes horses that have allergies in the past could tell me what they were allergic to and how you found out.
Its driving me mad trying to solve the problem, but theres got to be somthing, thought maybe doing this could help.

1 of my horses is allergic to sugar beet 'shreds and flakes' but not pellets?!?! Anyway, he had been on sugar beet pellets since he was little, then a friend told me about flakes and shread (alot easier) i fed him it as usually, then came out in lumps. I got the vet out, gave him injections etc. Then. . . For some reason......i didnt give him any beet for a few days, and lumps went!! Thats how i found out anyway.
 
I had a similar problem with my warmblood mare last year. We eventually stabled her on rubber matting and paper, fed her nothing but adlib hay for 2 weeks. By the end of it no bumps. So we started to reintroduce things. One every 2 weeks (starting with turnout in her normal field.) Give each new thing at least 2 weeks before adding something else. Eventually we discovered it was the leaves from the tree round one side of the field.

Takes ages but at least you can finally work out what they are allergic too.

Hes having speedibeet but only very little ive really cut out allot of his food hoping it will make it easier to to find the culprit.
Hes having hifi, mare and youngstock mix and a little bit of speedibeet and hay of corse.
Have cut out topspec which we have out suspicions about.
I cut it out and within four days the lumps had gone, stopped antibiotics, four days later they started coming back, vet came out and said give him topspec just to see if we get a reaction, next day they were worse, and have got gradually worse over the past few days, they are now infected again.
So hes back on antibiotics twice a day now, but surly if it was the topspec they wouldve gone again by now cause he hasnt had any since

AAAARRRRGGHHHHHH.
So we'll wait and see.

To be honest i want to cut out everything and start again, guess im juts getting impatient now. But the vet wants to do it the other way and carry on wiht what hes eating at the moment, then cut out as we go

its all very confusing, ill go along with him for now.
ive rang a few food nutritionalists up as well and theyve given me some good advise but they all want me to start feeding their brand of feed, which im happy to give a go but may complictae things further at this stage.

Thankyou for that may be worth checking out he fied, but saying that hes been in two different fields and has had lumps in both

Dust, fly spray, hibbiscrub, certain wormers, garlic, some chaffs, fence paint (although not 100% sure of that one) and many more...

...she's certainly an individual!

I'd do what madhector has if I were you and cut everything out and start from scratch
