Horses with cool names...

I remember a horse in the us called thewifedoesn'tknow and was in a race with mywifeknowseverything! What a race that was.
My boy is called handy money, one lady at our yard had him down as Mandy! Vets thought he was a mare called candy :(

Years ago when I entered a XC, my friend took the entry forms.

So she such changed my mares name to "Sam dingle" and my friends mares to "PMT Kayleigh"

Needless to say when we were going round and heard the loudspeaker we were not amused............

My sister named her gorgeous palomino horse 'The Honey Thief'.

She got her inspiration from the Hipsway song if anyone is ancient enough to remember that one.

People used to go up to her at shows and tell her how much they loved her horse's name!

This thread has reminded me to send in the mares passport for a name change before the showing season starts.

Who in gods name, called it Hairy Mary and passported it !!! Had I seen the passport before trying the horse I would have walked away.

Nothing can be as cool as Ted From Tipton and his girlfriend Adorable Alice.

Not sure if it's cool or not but my friends horse is called Tim and his passport name is nice but dim :D

Oooohh you have stolen my name!!!!!

My step dad is called tim and he always used to do some dim things, so therefore me and my friends from the yard always used to say we have to call a horse tim nice but dim after him after they explained to me who harry enfield was!

If i ever get to name a racehorse that will be the name! :D

My daughter did an unaff ODE at Stockland Lovell on her friends pony who had the show name Bobby Dazzler. Trouble is the commentator on the xc course pronounced it Bobby Davro, and we were in fits of laughter hearing Bobby Davro clear at fence 8 etc, to 'Oh dear, Bobby Davro's run out at the last but one fence from home!' I still chuckle when I think of it.

wont even try and spell my horses show name as its belgian and very long!

If i ever named a horse I love 'cruise control' ....cruise for short..........not sure why! :D

My horse is called nonya..... passport name is Nonya FN business say it with an irish accent!!!!! fab name.... only ended up with this name after farmer who bread it was bothered by someone asking it name and he said nonya fn business.... it stuck! :D:D

Too Hot To Handle. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known, causes the xc commentator some hilarity. I also know a quarter horse called Unzip My Shirt Slowly...

Following on from the "What's in a name" feature that runs in H&H every week...does anyone have a horse with a clever/funny show name?

I thought "Usain Colt" was pretty good, shame they never called Frankel that!!

Frankel was named after a V successful US horse trainer.

My grey mare is Squiggle Wiggle rather fitting as she can't stand still for a moment and when I bought her she couldn't go in a straight line.
Was thinking of calling her lady muck!

We jumped our horse locally the other day - his reg name is 'sleeping soundly' the commentator who knows the family - commented, "clearly named after the riders father......" laughter all round - father not so amused when we told him about it later!

In my student days at Westerham riding school i used to look after a big bay horse called JCB which suited him.
I had a big 18hns lad a few years ago we used to call skyscraper as it was like siting on top of a tall building.
Many years ago I used to jump for a client a horse called "Its A Bu@@er " and he was.

There was a racehorse called The Wifes Sister - the commentators had great fun saying - and next down is Graham Lee riding The Wifes Sister - followed by a fit of giggles!

Mine have normal-ish names. Mister Laurel - his big brother is Mister Hardy. Gray Mountain from LOTR - his sister is Honey Ryder. Jefertiti aka The Hocamaffe.

We had one in the yard a few years ago called Namedatdinner whose stable name was Lobster. And at the moment we have The Starboard Bow - stable name Skipper. I had to name him that as he really couldn't be called the first thing that popped into my head ... There's Klingons on the starboard bow ...

One of the lads had a pointer called Justgetoffandpush.
Just been looking at different posts on here as new to the forum. I had Mister Hardy! Not sure if you are still posting @Elf On A Shelf, but would love to hear how Mister Laurel is!

Old but fun thread. I know a horse named Staples after she had split her head open when the person I knew bought her and needed staples.

Also rode an ex racer called GottaGetThereFirst. He was an absolute sweetheart.

Such great names for great horses - hopefully GottaGetThereFirst knew what he was meant to do! Mister Hardy and Mister Laurel definitely didn't clown around on the racetrack! They were both really good sprinters in their day! 🏇 😍
