Horses with moustaches

I'll probably get jumped on for this, but to me, it's a sign of coarse breeding. But then I don't like traditional cobs either.

Gosh, thats a bit mean, surely? Id be cross if someone started a thread about how ugly ned is.

"say what you want about me, but never talk ill of my horse"

for the record, I love mustaches

I don't think anyone said the horse was ugly, just that they think mustaches are :)

The thing with horses is everyone as different taste, some like cobs, others like thoroughbreds, some like fancy colours, whilst others prefer "boring" bays...I personally love a kiss from a hairy mustache, but think they only suit cobs. There's an arab on my yard with one, and it just looks wrong!

Did you actually read what I wrote? Let me quote it for you again:

The OP has some stunning horses but one of them has a moustache.

I just. cannot. deal. with moustaches on horses.

I never said anything mean or nasty about anyone's horses. You might want to read things properly before you start calling people names.

Calm down dear, I wasn't talking about you. Sorry if it read that way.
And I didn't call anyone names. I just said it was a bit mean.

Hmmm, you were probably referring to me. No, I don't think the horse is ugly, but his tash is. My opinion. I don't like standardbreds either, sorry!!

You caught me!
I love all horses (hence why I started a thread a while back, to see if I could actually find an ugly horse. I didn't).
I just think it's a bit unfair to judge by looks/breed, especially animals.

I like how you tagged that on at the end there, just to get a sly dig at Nah.

Nah, I love Ned- he's one in a million.

And Riley, I would gladly pay money to have many a mustached baby from your stallion :D

Not a sly dig at all. There are certain breeds that I'm not fond of, I don't say that they are ugly though. I detest arabs with extreme faces, but I own a french bred arab who loks nothing like that. I'm sure that Nah would much prefer her horse to mine, hence why I said 'each to their own'.

gadetra, your pony has cute legs. :D

Ha ha. But it's the tache that clinches it!
Re a sign of common breeding that mare has gens of pedigree! She's 20, out of an old fashioned Connie (who was 25 when she had her!) and an by Oakley Dawn RID. So maybe a little closer to the open studbook than more modern types I suppose! (although her vast fluff and white chin do hint at the RID's shameful Clyde-y origins!)
