Random question:
Now that its summer have you been spending more time with your horses, not just riding but generally being with them??
How long,on average,do you spend with your horses dunring the summer and winter?
I spend about 2hours in the winter mucking out, grooming ect
and in the summer I spend about 8hours when were not at school but when we are at school I spend four hours at the horses :) xxx

During the winter I cheat - I work full time hours and my mum doesn't, so she does her and I visit occasionally :o

I rode two this morning, at different yards, and spent two hours with each - one a 45 minute schooling session with lots of chatting either side, and one an hour hack with no-one to talk to. No chores at either place because both are full livery (or "mummy livery" :p )

If I'm quick and efficient I can spend an hour to an hour and a half including stable chores and riding. But heck, who wants to be quick and efficient all the time?! I can spend about four or five hours at a yard with one to "do" and ride and lots of people to talk to and watch ride :)

Yes I think so, more time prepping for shows, comps, rides, meeting friends now we have more time to get to neighbouring villages etc. I ride more horses in summer too. In winter, they are out 24/7 and are mainly rested.

in the winter i have more to do because i have to feed 11 horses in the feild then feed rug up and turn out 9 other horses plus muck out bed down hay and water my own x
