Hi - looong story :) advice wanted or WWYD ? :D

I purchased a HW Rambo Duo couple of years ago (two winters). It wasn't cheap, but my old man deserved the best.

However it leaked along the seam when it rained :( Took it back to the retailer (only had it a couple of months) and they duly replaced :)

The replacement rug leaked :( but (and yes this is my fault now) there were other things going on and taking back the 2nd leaky rug wasn't top of the list.

Lost the old horse that summer :( Last winter the new horse hadn't quite grown enough to fit the Duo so it didn't get used.

This winter (the rug now entering its 3rd winter but hardly worn) it fits the new horse. It leaks. Am a bit pee'd off. My friend also has a Rambo Duo (a year older than mine) and her's doesn't leak.

Take back the offending rug to the original retailer - understand that its out of their warranty (but within the 3 year waterproof guarantee offered by HW), but they accepted my complaint, could see the rug was in almost new condition, they took it in and returned to HW quality control dept.

No problem here with the original retailer - they are/being most helpful ;)

Contact from HW via the original retailer confirms that "Yes the rug does leak. However all HW rugs will leak under heavy rain as the seams are not double taped" ((How/Is this acceptable on a £250 rug though??)) and they agree to replace the rug this one last time. Hurray!

However, this was over 3 weeks ago now and am still waiting for my replacement  I am in contact with the retailer and they in turn are in contact with HW and I am informed that my rug will arrive by the end of this week

Am beginning to get a bit exasperated/annoyed, I cannot see why it is taking so long to issue a rug (the original retailer now no longer stock's Rambo Duo)

I know that HW close over the xmas period ie next week and am beginning to wonder if it's worth just saying I want my money back if the rug isn't here by the weekend and going and buying PE rug instead

WWYD ?? Any advice, opinions, similar situations, slap round the face etc welcome :D

am happy to make cuppa tea for you ?? this is a rare occurance indeedy!

Thanks in advance :) DD xx

If it were me, i'd just wait a bit longer. When it arrives i'd put it on Ebay and get something else with the money

Nothing more helpful to say other than Rambo rugs are certainly nowhere near as good as they used to be, yet the price of them has shot up considerably. I bought a Duo last year and was very dissappointed, had I not got it for a good price (sale, aout £60 less than RRP) I would have sent it back. As suggested, I would put the replacement on Ebay and buy something like PE.
