Just looking for a bit of advice and peoples opinions and apologies that it's not really "horsey"

Sorry if this is long and boring but here goes...................

My best friend of 24 years is soon to have a baby with his wife and I had an idea in the dead of night that I wanted to do something special for them. The thing is I don't really "do" babies and children but my idea was to buy an old battered rocking horse and try and restore it for them.

What I'm wanting to know is will they appreciate it? I want it to be really personal so they know it's from me but will it just be something to get in the way of a new baby?

Just trying to decide before shelling out (i've got to found one first and I'm very picky as it must look like a real horse!!! lol)

Thanks in advance for any input

Well, i think it's a lovely idea and as a horsey person i would love a nice rocking horse for my baby but just make sure they have enough room to put it somewhere and remember the baby won't be able to use it for a couple of years!!!
I have 2 friends with rocking horses and both have had them since a small child. They are quite big and life like with real tack!!!!

I think it's a lovely idea! And TBH if they don't appreciate something that kind, and time consuming then they aren't very good friends... I can't imagine anyone not appreciating such a personal and beautiful gift... and they don't even have to muck it out:D

My kids are 13 and 15, I wasn't 'horsey' at all when I had them. But if you had bought them a rocking horse I would have been chuffed to bits - great idea.
