Yep lots of horses get scurf in their coats, especially when wearing rugs.

Yes, to get rid of it quickly and safely use Lush Soak n Float shampoo bar. Costs about £3.50 and should make 2 washes (about 3/4 weeks apart.). Its brill. Smells awful tho

Also re the white legs lushs daddy o should be good, ask the girls in the shop tho, they're brill. I know I'm a bit mad on Lush stuff but its all natural and it works for me and for the horses I've used it on.

ruth, i've never thought of using my Lush stuff on the horses, might treat them now! fab stuff, isn't it.

Its fab stuff. Was working at a riding school and the 11hh pony kept rubbing itself raw and ripping rugs by scratching on ANYTHING it could find. We eliminated lice/mites/fleas etc and came to the conclusion it was just itchy from the scurf in its coat. Didn't want to aggrevate the skin so rather than using head and shoulders etc went to lush as I knew it was all natural stuff. The girl thought I was absolutely mad, I asked for a dandruff shampoo, she asked who it was for; 'a pony' says I. I think she may have died laughing after I left!!!!!!!

It worked fantastically well even though it stank for days and days!!!
