Hi,

Kids are on holiday with grandparents, husband spending the day with his bro fixing motorbikes - basically a full day just me and ponio.

Planning spend the whole day at the yard - so far to carry on the dressage training, a few jumps and maybe a woodland hack in company.

What do you do on a responsibility free horsey day???

I'd go for a really long hack with a friend, get on top of poo picking and major tidy up of horse ie trimming, pull tail etc then to the pub for a well deserved cider!

Nice long hack to the pub :)

Failing that I would be giving everything (horse included) a very good clean and sort out. I miss having horsey days :(

I had a half day like that today (the other half was food shopping, hair cut etc).

I had a great hack, coffee in the sunshine watching the fuzzies grazing & whilst cleaning my tack.
Then spring cleaned the hay store & moved stuff around to suit me for the coming winter, ordered the winters bedding for the newly cleared space.
I sorted & cleaned out grooming kits. Checked through all indoor & outdoor rugs (outdoor ones already mended & cleaned so just needed to be put into the storebox for a few weeks time).

Saturday - which is a totally 'me' day :D will see me heaving out the heavy rubber matting in BF's & TF's stables, hosing down, & scrubbing stable floors in prep for winter as they really had a lick & a promise in the spring as BF had to be on box rest through April & May. Also planning to empty out the feed room & de-cob-web etc & replace everything back again :)
Oh - am going to get a long ride out before I start  so will prob take packed lunch to yard :)

Enjoy the horse time :)

Thanks all,

Defo looking forward to horsey day - most riding days are rushed - going to do all those jobs that never seem to get done - cleaning brushes, fixing rugs and so forth..:D:D:D
