As Leviathan and others have recommended there are a lot of very good films. Quite a few freely available on youtube at the moment. Ruffian and The Colt among them.

In lieu of the more famous release of Warhorse, I find the highly underrated The Colt to be a particularly wonderful film amongst them and, despite lacking the obvious production values of the former, most certainly worth a watch for those interested in the genre.

I've checked out Amazon, despite rave reviews "Run Wild Run Free" is not available on DVD, and I have no VHS any more!

White Horses

I am very old!:D

Is this is the one that was shown in the sixties and very badly dubbed? The reason I ask is because some people have put "White Horse" and I was very young. I'm wondering if they are two seperate things. If it is the one sign me up on the OLDIES list. :D

Does anyone remember 'FURY' I'm told I used to cry at two and a half, when Champion or Fury ended. :)

That's my ringtone!!

Where on earth did you find it? I Googled to try to find the lyrics last year. Nothing at all. :(

Wildfire is on E4 (right now actually!) about a yard where they seem to be turning a retired police horse into a champion racehorse with the help of a girl who learned to ride whilst in prison...

It angers me with it's hugely unrealistic storylines yet I still seem to put it on every morning.

Was Chatterhappy Ponies on the list? The one filmed at Wellington?

And new one to be released spring 2012 'The Equestrian'. Some of it filmed at Hartpury starring Layke Anderson and James Wilby with an appearance by Carl Hester too! Trailer now on youtube, search 'The equestrian film trailer'. There is also a facebook page about it, it looks great, I can't wait to see it!

I loved Gallant Bess, based on a true story too wasn't it? Shame they haven't shown it in years.

Also to add to the list "Justin Morgan had a Horse", it was a Wonderful World of Disney film. I haven't seen it for many, many years but would love to get hold of a copy. It was because of that film that me and my mum bought a Morgan... :)

Oooh just thought of another....... Horse in the House! It was a kid's programme, think it was shown on BBC back in the late 70's/early 80's? I'm sure I remember something about an outbreak of strangles so they brought the horse home? I loved the horse in that too!

Here are the words to White Horses for those that can't remember them:D

On white horses let me ride away
To my world of dreams so far away
Let me run
To the sun

To a world my heart can understand
It's a warm and gentle wonder land
Far away
Stars away

Where the clouds are made of candyfloss
As the day is born
When the stars are gone
We'll race to meet the dawn

So when I can only see the grey
Of a sad and very lonely day
That's when I
Softly sigh
On white horses
Snowy white horses
Let me ride away
