can any body help? i have a two year old colt. he is currently on a livery yard that has mares on it. this is only temporary but i have a problem. due to the mares being everywhere, he seems to be masturbating a lot. the slightest thing seemsd to set him off. grooming, etc.
is this going to cause him any problems?

Seriously, my cob used to be a right w*nker but once he was cut, he lost interest.

i have tried all sorts of threats. i'm not gettin him cut, but hopefully i will be moving to my own field in a few weeks. no mares so he shouldn't get the urge. was just concerned as someone said he could give himself an infection of some kind. helpfull wen people tell you things like that.

My gelding was cut at 4 1/2 months old as he was born very 'colty' he was a nightmare to handle, but he has consistenly been interested and mounted mares and pleasured himself for the last 18 years, I wouldnt worry about your colt, but just keep an eye on things to make sure he's clean and has no swelling around his sheath, I'm sure he will settle down come the winter.

thank u. he very easy to handle and gentle as a lamb in the stable. he is clean and i will keep a check for swelling etc. just very embarrasing wen we're out showing and he is "relieving" himself in the show ring.will have to find a deterrant. polo's are loosing their effect.
