After the disaster that has been my life in 2007, I've started making plans for 2008.
I would like to improve both Fudges and my own confidence so that we can start having lessons together (my RI schools him and I ride a schoolmaster at present as I'm not confident in the school)
I would like to do a walk and trot dressage test and a couple of in-hand shows with Fudge this season (working towards prelim dressage, clear round jumping, a ridden showing class and a sponsored ride)
I would like to lose enough weight to be able to ride Lady again.
What are your horsey goals for 2008?

lets hope 2008 is great for everybody

My first and main aim is to build Frankie's topline - I need to devise a schooling plan for when I get back from my Christmas holiday

Carry on with Frankie and mine weekly flatwork lessons

Get him working more consistently from behind, balanced and supple

i want to carry on with my monthly jumping lessons (not on Frankie), get loads of confidence with the aim of jumping Frankie in the late summer

Get more confidence out hacking - Frankie has been full of himself lately and i don't like the main roads!

Go hunting for the first time

Get Daisy up off her forehand and begin working in an outline

Go a whole year without having to call the vet for having anything other than teeth and vacs (OH has promised me a present for her if she manages it)

Complete our first ODE

Compete Boo at BE myself, probably have to share him though as I'd feel mean taking him away from the person who first took him out in public and who thinks he's very talented.

I'm not making any real plans as with horses you just never know!

My horsey goals aren't what they were 3 months ago!! Then they were to have Osc out competing at BD Elem, now they are for me to get back riding and fit by the summer then hopefully be back out competing by the end of the summer.

To continue getting DC in jumping, then to reg BSJA, improve our dressage tests and maybe even BE by the end of the year?

Youre like me Ifield! I broke my leg in November so just planning to get riding by about April, and hope to be back eventing in the autum. Will just take it as it comes and just be glad to be back on a horse.

Do well at the winter regionals at elem level in Feb (dare to hope top three?!).

Qualify for the summer regionals at elem, and maybe medium too, although that could be a 2009 goal!

Get my sitting trot sorted out (starting pilates classes 2008!)

Get our changes established.

Move up to Foxhunter BSJA

Get my youngster out and about doing Novice dressage and some BSJA.

To have my girl foal safely and produce a very nice foal!

To have my girl sound, that would make me very happy

To start riding again, even on somebody else's horse.

Maybe to get a horse on loan now that we have more land and to ride out with my friends in the forest. That would be heaven.

Fingers crossed that its not like 2007 for starters!!

Mare- Move up to be jumping 1.10m classes BSJA she is more than capable but I get nervous out and spoil it!

Youngster- Maybe do his first BE by the summer (not before as cant afford it) and get him out doing british novice in the spring. Some unaff ODE and XC before the BE though. Now his teeth have been sorted he is like a different horse.
He finished on a good year but as long as my mare stays happy and sound with no more time off im happy.

My daughter and her pony to win SJ as just gone aff. And for her to have a fun year like last year XC and ODE, I love watching her I think a bit more than competing myself!!

to keep both horses fit and sound first off

then to make a big bonus
Event little one to at least PN (very exicisted about this cos feel could go higher

as for Big one do some eventing/BD on him aswell and
main thing complete deal on lorry........ fingers crossed

For 2008 I hope daughter will continue progresing & finish getting her Newcomers Double Clears, move onto Foxhunter & hopefully qualify for Blue Chip. She has worked so hard with her horse & brought him on steadily & methodically that this is a very realistic goal. Fingers crossed for both of them.
