Can anyone recommend self catering/ b&b horsey holidays (where you take your own horse with you) Within 2 hours-ish of Coventry and not too mountainous.
Mum is going to take me and the neds away as a thank-you as she's going away alot this summer and I'll be looking after moody madam whilst she's gone. We've taken them away before and are just looking for somewhere friendly with good out riding and comfy beds for us!

Click on www.shenberrow.co.uk Its fabulous. I take my horse there with best mate and her ned and have a long weekend of hacking, horses, wine etc, with no men, kids or work to disturb them. Hacking is to die for with at least 4 bridle paths running from the cottage. Countryside is out of this world with loads of off road hacking. You are not far from Broadway, which is lovely to stroll around, plus there are plenty of great pubs and restaurants.

Dont know how far it is from Coventry, but it takes us an hour and a half from Bristol, and is not far from Worcester, so that should give you a good idea.

Dont tell everyone else though ......

I've just come back from Pilton Moor Riding Stables in the Gower - it's probably about a 3hr drive from Coventry? I've got family to the west of Cov and can get there in just under 2 hours in the car. This place is an hour further on from where I am so that would be a rough estimate! Anyway the owners are lovely, there are stables or really good paddocks for the neds and the riding is fabulous. They have a guide you can hire or they can give you maps and directions. They have a little traditional horse drawn caravan where they do B and B, a self catering cottage nearby, or you can stay in one of the local B and Bs around the area. There were 20 of us, so we slept in lorries and trailers!

I can't recommend it enough.
