horsey obsessions? (just for fun)

Im glad to see im not alone with their beds!! My boys beds have to have perfect banks, leveled and same height and also edge of the bed lined up with mats in a straight line.

Also keepers on bridles!!!!! BIG no no to have loose straps... definately bad luck.

I also make sure by boys are clean and tidy as well as my yard! Can't bare a messy yard, tack room or dirty ponies in their beds!!!!!
 
Mine is matching tack. Has to be the same colour. No black bridles and brown saddles! Not sure why, just always had a thing about it!!
 
As well as my massive straw bed having to be absolutely perfect, I am totally anal about horses rugs being on straight. I ALWAYS adjust my boys T/O rug before I let him go in the field (sometimes 2 or 3 times) and ALWAYS make him stand square to ensure that his stable rug is even on both sides, sometimes spending in excess of 20 minutes moving it a smidge to the left and then a smidge to the right. I really can't stand coming down in the morning and for it to have slipped to one side...I'm crazy, I know!
 
I'm very particular about his bed - bankings must be level, and the bed must be flat and edges even - I use a shovel rather than a fork and use it to flatten down the bed so its all level - one of the other liveries at a yard once passed my stable and asked if I would like a spirit level :D I don't care what he does once he is in it, so long as its looking fabulous before I bring him in :D
 
I have the opposite thing about diagonals. Don't care what people do normally but it bugs the life out of me seeing parents shouting 'diagnonals' at children who still struggle with rising trot. Not saying they aren't important but I don't see the point of them for kids who still push themselves up with their hands & are bouncing everywhere, better to concentrate on other stuff at that level.
 
I like stuff to match. If I have woof wear boots on front have to be wood wear on backs!! I have 13 sets (4 boots) of boots! I think I have a boot obsession :)

Also can't mix brown and black tack.

I would be livid if someone did that while I was riding a test. You do realise that it counts as outside assistance?

I am OCD about tack being cleaned before being hung up, with a figure of eight throatlash to keep the reins neat.

I also get shirty about bad sweeping - it has to be perfect!

I prefer horses to come out for exercise clean, no shavings/straw in the tail, mane and tail laid with water, and feet oiled. I have been known to just brush the bits where saddle and bridle go and leave the rest a la hippo, so I can't really say this is an obsession - just a preferred scenario!
