Just for fun, I read a post where someone was talking about their quiet TB (would you let people pat your horse post) and I smiled and thought 'oxymoron'

so, what can we come up with?

quiet TB
chilled arab
skinny shetland
fizzy cob

we all know of at least one oxymoron horse... what are yours?

Laid-back mare....having got her heart's desire to be a brood mare, my mare is now keeping herself busy bossing her field companion around :D

Poor-doing cob (I know one and it's unreal). Was going to say intelligent WB too!

Un-opinionated Shetland.

Welsh A - perfect first pony: not at all sharp.

Bad-tempered Highland (have yet to mine one that isn't a chilled out sweety pie).

Ugly Fresian.

Straight forward Halflinger. (I love their stubborn personalities myself).

Uphill-built Quarter Horse.

I have a super chilled 7/8tb 3 yr old. Goes to sleep on your shoulder in the field when she comes up for a fuss.

Also a sound, sane, well covered 23 yr old tb who lives out apart from 4 months over the winter when she comes in at night.

This. A clever dumblood I have never met.

Athletic cob? :D

Have to disagree, the most intelligent horse I ever had was a Dutch Warmblood. Currently have a Hanoverian who is a very smart cookie. I don't understand why they are so often thought to be dumb. These two warmblood mares don't suffer fools gladly and have challenged my own brain power by trying to work out what makes them tick. Once able to work out where they are coming from, learnt how to ask them and get a dialogue going, they only need to be shown something once before the penny drops.
They weren't saying 'I don't understand', it was more likely 'why should I do this for you ?'.

.

I think I met a Highland the other day (my breeds knowledge is dire). The lady asked me to hold him while she took her coat off in case he spooked; he was practically asleep!

My cob is picky-ish about food. If it's in a bucket she will eat it but she is VERY fussy about her hay.

western pleasure class - watched one of these once - have had more pleasure watching paint dry!

loose schooling - three teenagers chasing pony round school with a lunge whip!

have heard many people refer to barefoot shoeing - eh!

oops think i read original post wrong - mine are not about breeds of horses - sorry!
