i was just talking to my OH and he asked me why all horsey people are so horrible

and it got me to thinking that there are so many nasty comments made by horsey people about other horsey people- why is this!??!

because people want to look better then everyone else, and they feel their opinion is more valuable then others!!!

Yea, I think horsey people are weird and I include myself, maybe it's a control freak thing which is why we like riding large powerful beasts, but there is definately something strange in the way we seem to put up with paying lots of money to people like yard owners farriers back people instructers ect and for some reason we tend to let them talk to us and treat us like shite instead of treating us like "customers", which then breeds discontent and makes us bastards towards other people, plus add all this onto working full time and then trying to fit all our horsey chores and sometimes stressfull rideing in, ie bikes, traffic idiots, yobs, etc, mentally we are running on empty, it leaves us with a zero tolerance attitude, particularly me, I also think because you have to be consistantly firm with horses, it rubs off in your daily life with others, which comes over as pushy to non horsey people, but then who cares, bollocks to them.

Perhaps horsy people take on traits of horses! And herd dynamics! Horses are constantly battling for their place in the herd after all and on the lookout for signs of weakness so that they can move up the hierachy. Horsy people IMHO can perhaps be a bit more bitchy and stubborn than the norm but they are also very determined which is a good trait!

I don't think all horsey people are horrible, that's a bit of a sweeping statement

Some of the most selfless, generous people that I know I have met through horses, it's a shame when people tar horsey people with the same brush

I find it strange when people specifically ask for your opinion or suggestions on something and then when you give it take offence!

ha ha...thats always the best one isn't it! i'm very well behaved about keeping my opinion to myself...i offer virtually no advice unless specifically asked....and still end up in trouble with people!! i think its because i'm honest and some people hate that
