Shavings from a local joiner get them free

I used to be able to get free paper bedding from work. I can't now that we don't print but it came in useful for the hammies!

For two minis in at night out during the day -

Shavings - 1 bale a week between them at £4 a bale.
feed - hifi light £8 lasts 6 months ( i kid you not ) speedi beet £6.50 a bag, lasts 12 months, and Topspec Antilam £32 a bag lasts 2 months.
Hay - 1 bale lasts 3 weeks at £ 3 a bale.

Since I put in rubber beds and started them on 3 bales a stable of Hunter shavings I use just one bale per stable per week and they are deepish beds. I get the hunters at £5.75 a bale if I order a pallet of 36. One horse is 16.3 one is 17.1 both eventers and my little 32 year old 11.2 pony (had since 4!) Feed is Re-Leve (£9 ish) for the big boys (super no starch or sugar stuff) with hi-fi (£8.10) little georgie on super fibre pencils and equi-jewel in winter (quite expensive but for me the only one that works) 2 bags of Re-leve a week or there abouts and 1 pencils. Probably 3/4 bag of hi fi ?? Delvery is free on my orders too and they stack it all up and put it away. LOL. xx

Short answer is far too much I'm sure!

Have decided that Decathlon is the cheapest place for food, but there aren't that many round the country (it's a sports superstore and does literally everything for all sports including feed). There's a limited range, but my mare loves their herbal treats!

I get Hi-Fi Lite, Ad-lib Hay and Flax bedding (1 bale per week) included in my livery bill.

Gov also gets Bailey's outshine, which is about £33 per bag.

I don't dare put what I spend on the highly specialised diet my little rescued ponio - who has ragwort poisoning - needs in case 'im indoors reads it! I keep telling him how cheap horse feed is compared with cat food. But she needs milk thistle, echinacea, Yea-Sac, D&H Alfalfa, speedibeet, D&H Pasture mix, succulents and now Formula 30 electrolytes. My veteran just has Veteran Chaff, Blue Chip Original, succulents, speedibeet and shares the Pasture mix. Ad lib haylage for both of them, when they are in. Deep litter beds means only 1 bale of shavings each about every other week. If anyone knows my hubbie, tell him the whole lot only costs about a fiver a week. He's a very trusting soul. My storage bay looks like the feed aisle in our local tack shop!
