Horsey Tattoos, anyone!?

It's the outline for his martingale! It's supposed to be coloured in but I haven't got round to getting it finished yet, the bloke wants to do more shading and stuff yet.

I LOVE the style of this one, it looks amazing!!!

If i get a tattoo of him...does that mean he has to get one of me!?

Awwwwww he's luuuurvly!!! Why do I love his little legs so much??? :p

Yes, he definately has to get one of you too. It's the law ;)

I like the tattoo above - not my style, but much better some! Exactly what I was meaning about having a decent piece of work, rather than something small and fiddly!

Word of warning though. If you go for a portrait, get a REALLY good artist to do it, as I'm reliably informed that portrait's are the hardest thing to tattoo and it's so difficult to capture someone's face (or pony!) - always worth looking at photos they'll have showing original portrait photo, and photo of how the tattoo turned out!

He really is lovely though - definately tattoo worthy!!!

My tattooist will do children and pets tattoos, but not partners! She has a sign which reads "remember my ink lasts longer than your relationships"!!!

:D

Shhhh, you mustn't talk about he's little legs, he gets very self conscious about them! I have to tell him everyday that he's as leggy and graceful as a racehorse or he wont leave he's stable!! :D

Awwww but I LOVE his ikkle fluffy pegs!!! Beeeeeautiful! :D

My guess at number of hours of above tattoo (horse only) would be x2 sittings of about 3 hours each, so about 6 hours. That's based on my tattooist, who is very fast. Good rule of thumb is about £100 per hour for a good but reasonable tattooist, but get a quote for the piece, not per hour!!!! X

I have one! I got it in the most stupidest of places though......my tummy!

It is a horse rearing very my belly button. Looked amazing when I was 18, a size 8 and with a washboard tummy! Almost ten years later, I had a baby and now my horse resembles the lion stamp you get on the eggs....really doesn't look as good as it did all those years ago. Not to mention the fact I'm not a size 8 anymore, nor is my tummy like a washboard!! At least I can cover it up I guess!

I do however love Leona Lewis' horseshoe tattoo on her wrist.

I have a vintage unicorn on my ribs which I took from an old french book.
He is quite masculine and not very 'pretty' but he is majestic and strong and I love it although it's not quite finished yet (background and shading).

Thing with Tatt's, you've gotta be sure it's what you want. Yes, you love your horse. I'm pretty sure we all do, but if something (god forbid) was to go horribly wrong in a couple of months time, would you want a reminder of it inked into your skin forever?

I have a tatt of a friesian on my upper arm, took a total of 5 hours. I've considered having a portrait of my boy done, but having only had him 12mths I'm still not 100% about having one. Maybe in time, but not just yet.

Here's mine... background is only a few hrs old here, so excuse the darkness. Only decent pic I can find of it!

As others have already said - beware: to say tattoos are addictive is an understatement!!

Kazza1, your pony is so adorable!

Show pony - love your tattoo with the wings, very elegant.

This one is really stunning! I wonder how many hours wouldve gone into that!

This made me 'WOW' out loud! It looks so realistic - even boyfriend (who doesn't like tattoos, at all, and is not impressed with my plans to have a horsie one one day) agrees it is fabulous. Beautifully done - any idea where that was done? Did you find it on a tattoo artist's website?

Your tattoo is gorg, it looks like a ghost horse, with the moon and clouds!

Dont worry, im in a long term realtionship with my pone, had him since he was two....i dont plan on splitting up with him.....unless of course he decides to leave me for another woman

cant get the thing to work :(

Ive got a tattoo on my lower back (not horsey) but keep itching to get another but just cant decide what I want!

At the moment Im thinking of getting one a bit similar to the rosary beads a lot of people get around their ankle/foot but instead of having a cross on it I would like a horseshoe attached at one end of the horseshoe so its sort of hanging on the chain if that makes any sense?!?!

I've got a horse jumping through a treble clef which I love but it looks a bit lonely. Just can't decide what to get next. I love that oil painting back piece but am not cool enough to pull that off : /

I got one in January , my horse has a natural love heart on his bum with a wee chunk missing out the bottom if it , I traced it and had it tattooed with his name Mr Beau Jangles underneath it at the top of my back , love it so much and is unique no one else will ever have the same tattoo :)
