So for christmas this year we've been invited to a family friends.

She has 2 daughters, both in early-mid teens.

One of them rides, and am a bit stuck for gift ideas!

The one who rides is 14/15, and whilst she doesn't have her own horse has been riding for a good few years and is currently volunteering at a local stables - so she has all the kit etc.

One idea I had was getting her a numnah and getting her name embroidered on it, I don't know which horse she rides but if she is ever out jumping or at a show or just wants to dress up for a ride, it means she will have a nice numnah with her name on it. However, as she doesn't have her own horse I don't know if it would get much use!

So I'm a little bit stuck on what to get her, that's reasonably priced and a 14/15 year old would like or use!

I think a personalised numnah is a lovely idea!!

Other ideas would be bling schooling whip and nice pair of matching competition gloves?

Personalised grooming box..

voucher for a clinic/beach ride etc..

Bundle of classic horse movies..

Piece of horse themed jewellery

Hi-Vis tabard and matching hat band.

I don't think she is able to ride out on the roads, so am not sure how useful this would or wouldn't be to her! Next time I see her I will maybe slip in a few questions and ask her.

Voucher for a lesson at her riding school
Riding clothing bodywarmer, t shirt or jodpurs, nice pair of gloves are all nice gifts.

I am not sure of her size, and wouldn't want to end up offending by buying something too big/too small! Am not sure how I would ask her that one either.

I do quite like the grooming box idea, I've seen someone on etsy who customises brushes so could maybe order some/paint some for her myself! Would definitely come in handy for her helping at a RS.

I have never been to the RS she helps at as it is quite recently opened, but will maybe sneak myself down for a lesson when she is volunteering to see what the yard is like and see if there's anything she needs/would find handy when she is down - the yard she is at also has a great reputation so this seems like a good excuse to get a lesson there!

When I was a similar age and helped out I loved having my own adjustable head collar with my grooming kit so if I was asked to bring in or turn out I didn't have to hunt around for one.

I've discovered large chocolate horse shoes! The maker is on facebook and went to yhl pm me if you want the name.

What about a funky hat silk?

Riding socks? Cool horse socks are fab for bright fun designs.

What about a nice matching set of hat and boot bag? There are loads of nice ones and will be something that she can continue to use if she progresses to having her own horse!

I love the idea of horse print socks and a choccy horseshoe. I would be well pleased with that now, my teens are a but distant foggy memory, I'm afraid.
