Has anyone's horse had hiccups? I went to yard last night and the little man was making strange noises through his nose which were like human hiccups. Spoke to YO and apparently he had them when she brought him in so had been doing this for about an hour by the time I got there.
Spoke to vet who said she had seen it once before, but you never see anything documented about it, so long as he looks happy and eating, he should be fine and hiccups will go away in time.
Just wondered if anyone elses horsie gets hiccups too?

I think the proper term is (and I'm sorry for this) synchronous diaphragmatic flutter if you want to google it.
I think equine 'thumps' (the common name) are more serious than human hiccups, as they can have links to dehydration and electrolyte deficits.
