Does anyone else have this problem? I get on a horse and all of a sudden they will move. I've not ridden much lately and went out on a hack with a friend today. Rode another friend's Bob-the-Cob who is a teen and completely bomb proof - he didn't act up at all, he just really, really strode out. Never like this for the owner, and I didn't even put any leg on.

I always seem to be like this - I like to think I don't block forwards movement but sometimes I wonder if it's something more...

I have the opposite, a cold bottom! I think that many years of riding ex-racehorses has caused this but anything that I get on turns into a plod! I have light hands, so it's not a strong contact that does it.

Yeah, I seem to have electric pants and always have done, ever since I started riding in lessons, my instructors have said that. I can turn it down on Wings though as he often feels like a bomb about to explode, but on lazies it is very helpful :D

I always used to have a "cold" bum in my lessons - I was such a nervous rider that I think the riding school plods I used to ride would pick up on it and know that they could get away with being lazy because I didn't have the guts to make them move! Since I've had my own horse and become much more confident, I think my bum is getting warmer! Now my pony, who's on working livery, will be slow and ploddy for the riding school clients but step it up a gear for me. I love it! Horses are amazing, aren't they, with how well they pick up on what we want?

I'm known to have an electric bum, at work and at home! At work, our slow lazy cobs turn into TBs when I ride them, (don't know whether it's true or whether it's cuz I ride them in front rather than beginners letting them lag behind?!) and my darling little pony today seemed to think I was electrified as we pranced round our hack then she proceeded to do a handstand, dump me and b****r off up the field to the gate!

Thankfully I have a very good friend who was watching, ran to the gate to get her whilst on phone to me checking I was ok, and wrecked her knee up even more so than it already was chasing my little moose of a pony!!!

I used to have one constantly which was awful when I got on a hot horse, but after loads of lunge lessons I can now turn it on when I need it and turn it off when I don't. It comes in very handy when put on some lazy ponies as I haven't got a lot of leg to keep them going :p

a boy in my lesson!
i was riding a pony from thr RS and would he move? no!. T got up on him and the pony took off with him! whats wrong with me/him ? lol. my instructor always asks him has he electric pants on!
