Hot Clothing.....

It that time of year again, my chaps are currently white with grease and I groom properly everyday!

So time to start hot clothing.....

What do you use and how much?

I have just taken on a mare and her owner hot cloths her after every ride. It's all new to me as I have never done this before, but she just uses really hot water with nothing in!!

mmm people keep telling me to use different ingredients but to be honest he's so oily I dont want to make him produce more by using the wrong stuff or too much of it (does that make sense). I doubt plain hot water would do much though??

just hot water! wouldnt do it every day though =/surely thats just stripping the coat of oils etc?

Dettol, gives a lovely shine, horses smell lovely and acts as a good brace.

Or if after really hard work the refreshmint, you will have people walking past your horse stopping and go and sniff him as he will smell lovely.

I do my clipped horses once a week.

I dont want to do it everyday, just every fortnight or something. Its not a issue i've ever had before but this year he's pretty grubby

I use vinegar, really good at removing grease but doesn't smell great!

Thanks mucky, will give it a go tomorrow. My instructor is riding him this weekend for the first time and I dont want her thinking he's unloved!

Dettol will do a good job for you. Cheap as well.
