Just seen this on Facebook seems to have very good reviews has anyone tried? Or does anyone have any other suggestions now the horsefly season has started, I currently use Powerphaser which works to a point.

My FB feed too - will be watching. The horsefly in the video may not have bitten but it sat there long enough, I'm surprised the horse didn't object. As horseflies hunt by sight I'm not sure anything can be that effective against them? But I'm open to reviews of any new product

I got some last year after seeing the horse fly video….smells lovely but didn’t put flies off biting my Friesian. This year I’m back to Phaser and fly rugs.

Noooo, mine arrived yesterday, I mixed it this morning and put a little test patch on (as Rigsby is allergic to some products). Don't tell me I wasted another £20???

I usually use Tri Tec, Skin So Soft and a zebra sheet!

I bought some last year. It stinks but I didn’t think it worked any better than the Phaser.

Mine came and I have used it.

Smells OK. No list of ingredients, just a recommendation to patch test. Actually, I think there should be ingredients by law?

Anyway, I have used it on him and also on me.

Aaaand... there seem to be less flies around. Fewer midges, and hardly any horse flies.

What it would be like if I hadn't bought it, I can't say.

I have also been using the striped zebra outdoor to ride out and turn out in, and that helps too.

Someone on our yard uses it and it seems to work quite well until the horse sweats and it comes off. Same person said it isn't brilliant against clegs (is anything)?

If anyone is interested, I tried the Hot Horse fly spray for cleggs, expecting it to not work. While I was faffing in the field yesterday, I was inundated. This one landed on Rigsby' bottom. I took a moment to film it. To my amazement, it crawled around for a while, didn't bite, flew off.

My video was just like their advert! o_O

Others did latch on though, in other areas. I wonder if bum skin is tougher? I don't remember exactly where I sprayed it.

So, in the interests of science, after his bath, I watched as LOADS landed and bit. Then, I sprayed him and.... about 1/5th the number came back.

£20 well spent, IMO (and to my surprise)!

Photo was before his bath!
