So after getting a big grey beast just over a year ago, I have decided that he deserves hot showers haha. I was wanting to know what horse showers people recommend, what sort of prices and then if you didn't get a horse shower how did you make yours ?

Thanks :)

Best way is to get an electric power shower, no faff with gas and it can easily be converted to a plug.
Or I used one of those portable rechargeable showers (nomad) and put warm water in if needed. Ideal
For yards without power, or to take to shows

I love my Aqua2Go unit (like the Nomad mentioned above) you do have to fill it with hot water but if you have access to hot water it's a very cheap and portable option.

I use mine to bathe my ponies, clean my wheelie bin, buckets, water butts, windows, gutters etc etc and to hose down the roof/walls/rafters of the stables.

They are very handy!

Got the L5 from showerking. Bought a cheap trolley off eBay and cable tied it on and gas bottle sits at bottom. Love mine and so do horses.

I have a showerking too I got it by doing a google search .
I had an electric in the past but when it got cold it froze and died and the pressure was always bad .
The showerking is my second the first was from hot horse showers and died after just over a year I think it was a mixture of overwork and the bird poo dropping in it , I keep mine covered now when not in use ,
I have five horses who are out and about a lot so it's used a lot bit especially in winter I would never be without one .
Mine is fixed in one place now but the first one was on a trolley which was good you could use it to wash cars and all sorts of jobs if you go for the trolley option don't don't buy the one from hot horse showers go to a builders merchant and get a cheap sack barrow and use cable ties to fix the unit and luggage bungees to fix on the gas bottle .
A 19 kilo gas bottle is £30 for a refill the last lasted from feb to last week .
The one I have is the showerking L10 it's much much better than the first one I had which was the smallest hot horse shower one . It much more powerful and will run for ages before getting stressed out it will happily run while you bath five big horses one after the other .

You need one I know you do .
If it's bad back friendly, I do think I do.. I currently manhandle buckets and kettles.

Is your set up like this, with a gas bottle on the trolley? Do you just connect it to a mains water tap?

It connects with a normal hozelock type connection to a garden hose to an outside tap .
My first one was on a trolley I have my new fixed to a post in a open shed .

Thanks, GS. A trolley would be best for me, as I wash horses outside. There's a spare lockable stable that I can park it all in when not in use.

Very tempting. Will play the bad back card up strongly to OH.. Tbf, my back has been awful this last month.

Whilst on the back saving theme, anyone got an automatic hoof picker outerer, one that lifts up the horse's feet as well :).

My friend fitted a hot water tap in the same way as you'd put in an outside cold water tap. that may be worth consideration
