Hot horse showers-recommendations please!

So.... my hairy beastie is in desperate need of a bath and appears to have a dislike of cold water ( who can blame her) so i decided to take a look at the hot horse showers on the market and am pleasantly surprised that they are not as dear as i thought they would be, i have now convinced myself that this is the new 'vital' piece of kit i must have. On ebay there are some advertised at £179 that require a gas tank and some other ones that look like a small boiler that don't have a tank but are slightly more money round about £240. The cheaper ones have a few negative feedback comments and i was just hoping that a few people on here might share their experiences with either of these two showers. I have water supply on the yard to connect to, i am thinking i don't need electric supply for these though correct me if i'm wrong, and i do have electric if need be. Any suggestions please?
 
Wayfair do a cheap one for around £150 which is perfectly OK although the hose needs lengthening.

Another option if you have electric might be to pop in an immersion heater? If you only have the one bathing say once a week, you will only need to heat a tank for that, so not hideously expensive.

If you have a constant stream of neds needing baths at various times, keeping the tank warm constantly might get very dear...

Also rather relies on having an electrician to plumb it in....but once in much less faff than a gas system.
 
Thankyou, i don't think i have room for an immersion heater, it is a tiny yard and the shower would likely only get used once or twice a week by myself and other liveries which is why i'm dubious about the gas tank one incase someone else doesn't turn it off properly, i'll have a look at the wayfair one- when i think of an imersion heater i think of a big tank with red plag round it like we had at home years ago- is that what you mean or is that the one that looks like a little rectangular boiler? sorry for sounding blond ...
 
Sort of 3ft high cylinder....easy to pop in the corner of a tack room.....if you have a very nice plumber you might even find one being pulled out by someone converting to a combi boiler.

Gas not turned off no disaster as long as it's stored outside, should just waft away...
 
I've got a showerking horse shower, had it three years and wonder how I ever coped without it.

I show Shetlands all year round so it gets used every week to fully bath two to three ponies. I go through two gas bottles a year so not expensive.

One thing I did do though was replace the hose with a thicker more robust one as the supplied one split quite easily
 
If you have access to a hot water tap then maybe consider extending this to the outside, my friend has a standard cold water tap outside and a hot water one next to that

An alternative to any of the options given so far is an Aqua2go unit which has a tank that you fill with water that is already hot (again need a hot water tap or kettle) the beauty of these is that they are totally portable so gas bottles or electric aren't needed. I fill a couple of containers full of very hot water at home then add some to cold water at the stables - it's a faff but completely foolproof and cheap
 
Is the water pressure dependent on the tap water pressure ?

I notice that shower king and wayfair showers are the same product just different prices.
 
Last yard we were on had no hot water, but did have a very large tea urn for heating water for bathing. I used to get enough very hot water out of one tankful to make up 4 buckets of perfect temp water and could bath a 16.3 with this, if I needed extra as long as the tank was refilled before you started bathing the water was a good temp without adding any cold.
 
I have a the wayfair gas shower with the trolley it works off the tap and hose pipe and its awesome makes having a grey pony bearable. it was a bit of a faff for the first few times till I got used to attaching the gas bottle now its so easy wouldn't live with out it, ( you can also get a pump with filter on mine so you can use water butt water if no hose pipe but that ad about £100 to the price and I don't need it
