Hot water in stables for bathing (horses!)

Just musing about the best way to get hot water in my barn.

We have good pressure, water and mains so would this work??

It's an electric on-demand water heater- just a small box on the wall that heats as the water passes through.

I'm wary of the gas bottle powdered ones as I've heard such horror stories of them beaking, being expensive to fix, or just exploding. Friend of mine had one which used to shoot a jet of flame out of the top whenever she turned it on.
Also, it's currently hard to get hold of gas bottles - yet another random covid shortage!

Probably not the same type of device but when we had an electric water heater for providing hot water in the tea room at our yard it broke when the weather was really cold as it iced up in a poorly-heated room. At a previous yard the owner tried to use an electric shower to heat water in the wash room and the same thing happened.

I have an electric shower. I can’t use it if it’s likely to be frozen or it will break it. it’s in my barn though which is pretty well insulted.

If you use an electric shower that is likely to freeze if so cold, the best thing to do is to (having switched the shower off) unscrew the shower hose attachment from the white box, and let any water inside it drain off - keeps it safe from the expansion of any ice inside it....

I have a domestic electric shower for the horses in my stable block. I don’t use it in freezing conditions and I can isolate both the water and the power from the adjoining tack room. I have two hoses screwed together so I can reach every bit of the horse with the shower head. I have a solarium in the wash bay too. I wouldn‘t be without either especially as I have a lovely young horse with sweetitch who benefits from weekly shampooing. I did have to get a dedicated power supply for the stables though but the costs were reasonable as I automatically received an agricultural subsidy.
