I actually really do need a new MC helmet...minne is 9 years old!!! Not good. I kind of like the heavy feel when I'm on the bike...might have to fo find one to try though

I too agree that most motorcycle helmets are far better made and better able to withstand all sorts of impacts than even the bestriding hats...just that not all hats are equal, so better err on the side of caution.

I love the idea of a bestriding hat - for bestriding about in. Would you still be able to use it if you were riding side saddle, ie not bestriding the horse?

Actually dying laughing!!! I've been wondering who else spotted the pattern.

What did it for me was the photos of Henry and Rizzle in her photo bucket.

So is ycbm cptrayes? Good grief I can never keep up- only noticed one who has two accounts because she sometimes replies to her own threads in both user names but as the same person iyswim. Respect to people who can, I don't have enough quick thinking to have two aliases!

I'm always bemused that people think being hit by a car falling of a bike or falling off a BMX bike at thirty miles a hour doing cross country are so very different from falling off a horse. Hats of this construction passing the 1384 hat standard were sold until recently by Champion.

Not sure a bike can kick you or land on you with the force of a horse, but hey ho... your head, your brain damage...
