Got a call from my YO today to say that M had managed to get out of her rug somehow. Apparently she was standing there naked munching away at the round bale with her rug in a heap nearby with all the straps, clips everything all done up even the neck piece was still attached and closed.
I should put her on the stage.

My mare managed to do that once! Not a buckle out of place or undone, nowhere near the fence etc and I'd only popped up to the feed room and straight back to the field so still have no idea how she did it

We used to wonder how when we used to find our 17hh TB's fly rug in the field all done up, I caught him doing it one day and here's how it went.
Nylon type fly rug with neck and tail flap, horse went down as though rolling, rug slipped slightly forward, he got up standing on the breast bit, wiggled a bit and got the bulk of the rug over his withers, shot backwards and BINGO a rug free horse prone to fly bites.
Just wish I had a video of it, had to be seen to be believed
