I am going to Houghton Hall Intl this year for the first time. Is anyone going or been before? Ive seen it on horse and country but thats it. ooo and whats the shopping like?
I am going on the thursday afternoon to see the BYEH qualifier as it is just down the rod from me. Not been before but want to see what its like as may be taking my youngster there next yr as 4 yr old.
We are there Thursday afternoon aswell, we are on a course walk with Alex Hua Tain and I cant wait, last week Badminton I met Sharon, Houghton meeting Alex lol its good though to see it from their point of view.
I was looking at maybe doing the unaffiliated SJ but I have decided against it.
I really enjoyed it as it was on smaller scale than the other events I've been to such as Burghley & Belton. Lovely course in park land, taking you right past Houghton Hall. Best place to pitch yourself is by the water complex where the local church has a large tea tent. Fab homemade cakes & a cuppa while you watch your fave competitors negotiate the water, it doesn't get much better than that!
The shopping was ok, but again on a smaller scale. Joules were there, as were Ask Sal & some garden furniture, but only one tack stall I think. There was a Beer tent & the usual array of food stalls. I think there was a Bouncy Castle too. It was a good family day out, even for the non horsey ones.
