I don't know whether to go or not. I really could do with it to keep up with the fitness levels of everyone else, especially given that I missed the first two. But, like many people, I've been surprised by how deeply the Queen's passing has moved me. We are in a period of national mourning and although I know she loved horses and the countryside passionately, she always put tradition and duty first and it doesn't feel right to be enjoying myself the day before her funeral.

On the other hand if I don't go that might be my season over before it's begun. The exercises get more challenging with every meet and I may have missed the boat with our fitness levels. Can't decide ...

I'd go personally.

Yes, the passing of our Monarch was very sad and it's a monumental event for the country but life does still go on for the majority of us even in a period of national mourning.

If you feel going is too upsetting right now, you have your answer what is right for you but I see no reason not go just because you think you shouldn't.

I think Sunday is fine.

Monday will be a bit odd. If the roads are quiet then I might try and get baby cob over to the bridlepath through the village with all the blind bends - but early or late rather than at the time of her funeral. Or I might find it feels disrespectful. I'm not sure at the moment.

Go and enjoy! Her Majesty loved her horses and the countryside. It's what she would have wanted.

I will be riding Monday morning and taking the time to quietly reflect on the amazing lady that she was. Paying my respects in my own way and honouring her memory.

I'm taking full advantage of an unexpected bank holiday. I've got a lesson booked, and am planning on giving Blue a full clip, as well as making a dent in the packing for my house move.

It's a bit weird having a king now, but I find the whole concept of a monarchy so hopelessly outdated and bizarre that it's not much weirder than having a queen.
