Hm. Lying in bed trying to work out how to de-clutter house stuff, then suddenly thought of horse stuff! Yikes!

And that made me think of actually moving the neds... Hm. There's three of them. I'm unlikely to get another lorry in time for the move (unless of course the house takes forever to sell
blush.gif
), so will have to do that in x number of trips. Hm. Guess I'll have to leave them at the livery yard until we've moved our stuff to the new house...

Okay, so I know we're a long way off the actual event, but with the kind of job I do, I need to have plans (usually A through to at least G) in place

Any thoughts, suggestions, polite remarks?
grin.gif
How did others do the transition?

Hot choccies for all that read, Ferro Roche for all that come up with useful bits

.

have you already found your new house then MrsM?
think I must have missed an update! lol
could you not hire a 7.5 tonne horse lorry for the day to make life quicker and simpler?
if only for moving the horses and their stuff.
ok, so most wasn't really helpful, but can I have hot choccie and ferro roche anyway?!

E - you'll always find us
grin.gif
There'll always be a bed for you hun
grin.gif
.

C - no, seen a few that we've short-listed, and the short-list keeps on getting added to lol, but D refuses to go and see anything until we sell this one. Last time we put this house up for sale (four years ago) it sold three times, but the buyers couldn't sell theirs
frown.gif
Okay, you may have a FR, but just the one mind
wink.gif
grin.gif
. Then again, maybe buying a 7.5 tonne might be the thing... it's going to cost probably £3k to get us moved anyway, going by what it cost when we moved up this way ten years ago (and when we had much less Stuff!).

We've dropped our purchase price as we want it gone in ten years max., so now the ceiling is £300k, so if you're bored, get looking lol

Our friends just moved and wanted all horses to move together, so she roped in friends and we had a convoy. Two lorries and a trailer.

We did similar with our friends and just splashed out on a big indian takeaway for evryone once we were in. Made the whole thing more fun

However only works if you arent moving hundreds of miles away
blush.gif

We're near Nottingham, but we can move anywhere
grin.gif
. I have the kind of job that means I often travel and could be working anywhere, so it doesn't matter too much
grin.gif
.

The convoy sounds good
grin.gif
. I think we might have to book out a local hotel though as could be Wales, or Scotland, or Lincolnshire, or Leicestershire, or Spain...

I'm in Notts

We're looking to move down south. What sort of thing are you looking for?

Moving
smile.gif
So exciting
smile.gif

We want: min. two acres (though as many as possible really); two bedrooms definately (min. three preferably, but open to suggestion); don't mind if already stables up or not; and don't want to pay more than £300k
grin.gif
.

What are you looking for?
smile.gif

Well prices are about 40% more down south but we would like approx 2 acres but would settle for 1 acre 3 bed that will be our ideal. But at the moment we are looking for a 2 bed cottage until we sell this one which is a 3 double bed, 2 stables, garage/workshop on just over 1 acre. I don't keep JB on our land though just weekends as he joins friends horse across the road on apprx 5 1/2 acres she rents. So I have the best of both worlds.

Well we moved farm once - think of the logistics of that! We had 100+ milking cows so had to move between milkings. Luckily we only moved about 75 miles. We did it over 3 weeks, owning both farms for that time. The cows travelled on massive transporters with a haulier. The horses/'crock' cows/small calves came in the horse trailer over several trips. Some farm equipment came on a flat bed lorry and one tractor and baler was driven.
Good luck with your move.

We did lots of decluttering first, both human and horsey!

We used an old trailer to move all the horsey stuff, and hired a transporter to move the horses.

I hope your move, when it happens goes smoothly - ours was ... interesting.
tongue.gif
We lost our rented grazing in our previous place, so the horses had to go in to livery miles away, then there was a delay with our moving in date, but we had to get out of our house, so we ended up in a holiday camp where we had to sneak our dog and guines pig in and keep them hidden for two weeks.
shocked.gif
Then on our "big day" the removal company had got the date wrong and didnt turn up, so we had a new empty house and absolutely no furniture, beds, not even a kettle!!!!
mad.gif

It was worth it though - this was five years ago, and I still have to pinch myself when I look out of the window and see our horses grazing in our fields - something I will never take for granted.

So - GOOD LUCK.

Oh Sprout that sound wonderful
grin.gif

Well good luck getting a 3 bed house with at least 2 acres for not more than 300K
If you find anything let me know
laugh.gif

Mind you if you go to the Lincolnshire Wolds you might find something.

B - where in the country is 'Upside Down'?
grin.gif
We can/do have more money, but then won't be able to pay off in ten years...
blush.gif
frown.gif

CR - loads of places for the money
grin.gif
. We have the advantage of not having to be in any one place, we can choose the house that suits our needs
cool.gif
.

H - I gibber at the very thought of it! Well done you all
grin.gif
.

S - eek lass
blush.gif
But, the end result is so worth it - I just can't wait
grin.gif

Currently de cluttering our house for the same reason. Luckily for us we are - hopefully - moving to be with the horses. They won't be moving anywhere.

Can I have some hot choccy for such a useful answer please?
