House insurance and stables

Something I've not really thought of before (rented until recently bought): having seen a few friends photos this week of demolished field shelters or blown off roofs etc after the storm (mine survived ok) when you have your own field, is your shelter/stable block covered by your insurance or can it be added? Finding a few thousand £s would have been hard if I'd have lost my shelter to the storm. My field was part of the house purchase but is 2 houses away so not attached to my house/garden so to speak.

I would think it would need to be a named item on your household insurance. It would depend on the threshold value on your particular policy.

Our shelters cannot be covered for storm damage on our policy .

I think it's 1 or 2 thousand named for contents but they're not really contents are they, I guess it's worth an ask.
