Pup is now 12 weeks old (had him almost 2 weeks)... hes understanding sit/down and does come back for a toy - so really pleased with him

however...house training isnt going as planned....

I take him out after every snooze, play, early morning and night (hes dry at night). Literally every hour tbh.... but he will happily go play in the garden (doors open all day) but still come into the house to pee (wtf?)!

hes lived outside until i got him, and he prefers to pee on grass (so ducks under the picket fence in search of our grass area and brings himself back lol)

We cant use paper as he just destroys it... he has just taken himself upstairs to the bathroom (he now has learnt how to use stairs... ) and done a huge dump next to the toilet (on the bathmat :( )

So...how to house train him better? were obviously failing somewhere....I do not shout at him when he has an accident - i use the word "no" and instantly take him outside even mid pee.....

Only twice he's poo'd in the house - its all wees!

thanks in advance.... any help appreciated... my last pup was brilliant to housetrain - then again..........she is female !!!...:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Carry on as you are taking him out after a sleep or feed. Stay out till he does something and shut the door, so he doesn't have free access to go in and out as he chooses. Watch him like a hawk and at the 1st sign, straight outside, if you can watch him for a few minutes, perhaps restrict him to where he sleeps (as he is clean in that area).

My JRT (boy) would sneak off if given the chance, but now is the only one who asks (barks at back door) to go out, the bitches would all wait there till you notice them!

thanks - he has his cue work "be quick" which he will generally pee on command if i stand there with him (dont mind obvs)!, but i can lock him out and he stands there crying to come in

he gets tons of praise when he goes on command, and the cue work said again etc

men! lol
:)

nope.

Ive gone through many hoodies and rain coats stood outside with him lol :D

i get up early in a morning (and sometimes go back to bed if its too early) hence why hes dry of a nighttime!

were taking him the vets monday too as he had a lttle issue with his manhood today too :/
