houses for sale with land?? where to look??

Where do i start looking for houses with land?? I only know the local estate agents around here but there not quite what im looking for. Is there anywhere on the net where i can start looking?? Im based Bolton area if that helps!!

Rural Scene is quite good. It really depends on your price bracket and where geographically you're looking

If you want to stay in your current ocation, look in the local papers and get a feel for which agents are selling the kind of thing you're looking for, then get on their mailing lists/check their websites daily.

We're currently looking

. Just putting feelers out because we didn't know where in the country we wanted to be, but we've got it whittled down to the west coast or south cost of Wales

My house is for sale, we are North Herts though.

Down here you get a 4 bed house with garage and large 1 bed annex, 9 acres, 5 stables hay barn and store rooms for £995 000

I troll all the local estate agents, plus those that specialise in farms/estates.

Sure you dont want to move to Scotland? Much cheaper and get more for your money

5 beds, plus 9 stables and land for a mere 380k

Sounds lovely but def out of my price range!! I only need no more than 2/3 acres really for my future expanding mini herd!!

What area of the country are you looking for?
We're perennially looking for somewhere big enough for OH's tractor stuff, so we're on lists and get a lot of email notifications, but we're mainly interested in the south.
Problem is everything is always over budget!

Thanks everyone but ideally looking for somewhere around Bolton give or take 20 miles. We both work Wigan so would need somewhere within travelling distance!!

I would buy a copy of Farmers Guardian - or look online http://www.farmersguardian.com/ and see which agents advertise land & property in your area. The major estate agents are (usually) hopeless for equestrian property and don't know the size of acreage, stables, location of riding etc. When you have found some agents look at their websites regularly and go to see lots (even if out of your price range and area) as that means you will recognise value for money when you see it - good luck!
