Dear diary
I fear this may be my last entry.......

I fear that by next week I will have completed slow roasting to death and will be sitting in between two pieces of bread on someones table. Instead of someone saying excitedly "oh we're having meat loaf for dinner" instead it shall be "we're having Hovis loaf".
Some time ago uncle D had a birthday party and they sacrificed a pig over a fire. Well i think its somone elses birthday soon cos i can empathasise with that pig (I know i've spelt that big word wrong but my brain cells are like mush in a bucket). Its SO hot!
Needless to say this week has been rather quiet on the riding front - even mum and Dad seem to realise someone had turned the heat up and its too hot to do anything. Mum rode me loads at the weekend but since she's been away omar and i have just slow cooked.
Even fit mare, ginger-I'm-actually-quite-cute-for-a-ginge- mare have been wilting in the heat.
I have this morning organised a rain dance in the fields. Someone has to do something before we all die. We all have to run round once to the left, once to the right, rear up then buck. Apparently for it to truely work you have to sacrifice someone but no one seemed keen to volunteer. Personally I think thats just selfish.
I couldn't even summon up the strength to help mum clear out the trough yesterday although stealing her jug as we were halfway down the drive did seem to amuse her. Shes rather easy to please is my mum. Dad says its cos shes simple - I'm not sure he'd say that when she can hear him though?!

The only other news is mum has been bitten by horse flies more than me. How does that work? Surely I should get bitten by horse flies and mum should be bitten by human flies? I am confused..........

well your rain dance is working in Leicestershire without any sacrifice - its torrential!! hope you feel a bit cooler soon Hovis!

Have to say Hovis and Sids Mum - this Friday diary really is the highlight of an otherwise boring day at work! and i feel your pain with the horsefly bites, i have one on the back of me knee - its horrible!

Well Done, Hovis. Your rain dance has certainly helped down here. Though not actually raining, it's a good deal more cloudy and breezy here in Hampshire and is actually quite nice today.

Hope it works for you as your diary is the highlight of my HHO week.

Oh well done Hovis, it's raining in Milton Keynes and is so much cooler and fresher today, bliss!! I hate being too hot. As the others have said, the Friday diary is so entertaining, brightens up the day no end, you really should look at a publishing deal you know. (Hovis, the girls would be falling at your hooves if you were published).

Dear Hovis,

I wish the Carrot Lady were as sensible as you! It was really hot here too, and she kept hauling me out of the field and making me canter lots. I tried to tell her not to by nipping her arm, but she pulled it out of the way and I got a smack on the nose for my trouble!

She brought out the big squishy wet things afterward, though. They felt really good on my sweaty back! Do you get the squishy wet things too??

Many carrots,
the Spooky Pony

Hovis can we dance together, we would be so suited as we are so alike in looks. What rain god could refuse to visit after seeing us tango?

I too have found it very hot, and Stinky has been very quiet - maybe as he got a huge telling off on Saturday as when we went out on Friday, he was very naughty with the little girl riding him and refused to stop.

He is in for it if he tries is again, mummy has given Alice the pelham and told her if he won't pull up, to give him a good tug and not be so nice to him as she has.

Naturally I was a very good girl and am as ever, still wearing the crown of best hack around

Nice and cool today, good breeze and I think rain is on its way - my grass needs to grow - I am a big hungry lass.

Lots of love
