Dear diary
I am worried. I think my new brother likes me. And I don’t mean likes me I mean “likes” me. In the very wrong kind of a way. He’s been allowed up from the “you might have germs and kill us all” field into the field next to us and he’s become like a stalker. He won’t leave me alone – it’s so uncool. I mean it’s nice to have a new friend but seriously if the dude doesn’t stop yelling for me all the time the mares are going to think I bat for the other team.
All in all it’s been a good week despite fancy pants braying for me like a seaside donkey the minute I move. Dad and I went up the fields on Tuesday and had a good blast around whilst he had a little “man to man” chat with me about behaving for mum the next night. Now quite frankly I saw no need for this conversation I ALWAYS look after mum – any midair dismounts that have happened have always been her fault not mine. Hey I always get safely to the other side of jumps – all she has to do is hang on.
Anyway the next night mum upset me by washing my feathers in COLD water but then she saved me when I got my head trapped between the lead rope and the wall (note to self – don’t do that again it was very uncool – I nearly wet myself in a style reminiscing of poof bags).
We then loaded onto the lorry and set off. We got to a venue I vaguely recognised as the place mum had made me trot about in covered in baby power and I was filled with dread. Then I saw army man and thought phew! Unless he’s come over all weird on me then at least we’re doing some jumping. I do think there must not be enough air at these places though because as soon as mum goes anywhere other than the yard she starts breathing funny. It’s most odd as Dad and I seem to be ok. Anyway we walked up and then evil army man began the beasting. There was me and another horse and he was making us work v v v hard but it was FUN! Yippee – boing boing boing!! Over jumps we went. Mum and the other horses mum were puffing and panting like THEY were doing all the work after an hour! What on earth is that about? Hey it’s my legs doing the running, my legs doing the jumping – not mums? Anyway not-so-evil-army-man said I was fab so I have decided that I like him again at the moment. We’re apparently going to his house again soon so I’m hoping he puts the kettle on – I have recently discovered “tea” and it’s very nice. Mum was “over the moon” with me which I didn’t understand as there wasn’t a moon in sight – we were inside? The woman is most odd sometimes – I do love her but she’s bonkers. The other ladies horse was in trouble as she fell off over a jump so I was pleased to see it’s not just my mum that does these silly things.
Anyway I had the day off yesterday as mum was moaning about how much her legs hurt – again – HELLLOOO!! It’s MY legs doing the work woman – just sit there and let me get on with it. Army man says mum has to trust me and that I am a darling – note to EAM can you call me a dude or something not a “darling” - people give us funny looks.
Anyway at some point soon fancy pants is coming into our field so I shall be keeping a close eye on him. So what the dude can jump 1.2 m jumps out of trot but I have bigger feet than him and will plant one on his nose if he tries any hanky panky with me!
So until next week this is the feather powered flyer signing off!

Fantastic diary again. Don't worry Hovis, just let the new one look through your diary and he can see how much you raved about 'fit' mare in the past and get the message loud and clear!!

Definitely - its the highlight of my week.

I think we should start a 'publish Hovis's diary' campaign, it would be on the bestseller list in no time :-)

Any takers?

My darling Hovis,

If the new one starts boasting about doing 1.2 m in trot, tell him my brother can do the same, and he is a stinky little gypsy horse with furry legs so it ain't that hard. Stinky can also take a nine year old kid out on a hack which is far more impressive that just being able to jump so yar boo sucks to him.

I am not seeing mum and dad much at the moment, mummy has not been well and is she is only allowed to stroke my nose over the stable door once a week which a bit sad but hopefully she will be back making my life difficult working soon.

Keep well and ignore the braying idiot which is what I do to Stinky when I go out without him. Though if you give them one bellow it is great watching them squeal as you walk away.

Love
