Dear diary
Today is both an exciting day and a very sad day. Today fancy pants and I move to a new home.
Mum asked me a while ago to not post about what was happening at my current home so I know this may come as a shock to you all. For about a year now mum and Dad have been picked on by a very nasty person at my current home and it got so bad it was making my mum cry a lot. So she and Dad have been looking for somewhere else for us to live where there is not this nasty person. The reason I’ve not been posting about some of my old friends from my home for a while is that they have all left too. In fact the stables have been getting emptier and emptier which I think that’s says something but mum says I’m not allowed to say what………..
So today we pack our bags and go. I’m excited because I’ll make some new friends, get a new room and find lots of cool new places to go out hacking. But at the same time I’m very sad too. This was my first home with mum and it has a lot of memories for me:
This was the first place Mum brought me when she bought me, the first place I fell in love and the first place I lost friends:
This is the place my first brother broke his leg and the last place he lived before he went off to retirement.
This is the place Bertie and I first played “I’m a stallion”, stood shoulder to shoulder dribbling water down our chins, frolicked in the snow and the place I last saw him before he went over the bridge without me.
This is the place I first saw my beautiful fit mare who will forever be the love of my life. This was the place I fought over her with poofbags, gazed adoringly at her across the stables, went for long walks together with her in the woods and the place she broke my heart in two when she died.
This was the place mum has laughed so hard at me she has cried, the place where I found out about the dog house, the place where cold baths have been the fashion, the place we have hunted for eggs, the place where Mum forgot her age and played silly games involving scary flags………..the place where for a long time we have had fun and the place I turned from a baby into a man.
I will miss this home and I know mum will too but maybe now she will stop being so sad. I think it's sad that you humans can be so nasty to each other – what’s wrong with having a quick bite and a kick and then its all over? I have to be content with the fact I will forever have my memories and my friends will come with me in my heart.

So it’s on to pastures new – quite literally – and new adventures for fancy pants and I. I am trying to remember all my bits and pieces whilst licking the stable stains off my knees in case any of my new dorm mates are female and hot. So diary should I take gifts with me or wait until I have assessed them for looks and willingness to drop down the social register and frolic with me? Oh and is it a social faux par to ask them their age and how many kids they’ve had within 5 minutes of meeting them?!! Help!

Hey Hovis, remember the good times and forget the bad ones.

You are so drop dead gorgeous with your rugged charm you don't need to worry about the ladies.

You had better just hope to are not being sent to a 'geldings only' yard!

Aww Hovis, people can be so mean. This move sounds perfectly timed to kick-start lots of spring and summer adventures. Make sure you give your mum a big destroyer hug (just don't knock her into a water bucket or anything) and behave for your trip. I'm sure the ladies will love you.

Good Luck! :)

Beautifully composed Hovis, brought a tear to my eye, you are indeed a horse of many talents. Have a safe move and look forward to hearing about all your adventures at the new place.

Aw Hovis, that was beautifully written. You've had some lovely times but just think how many more adventures you can have on your new yard.

Oh Hovis that made me cry:o I am glad you have found a new home and I hope your mum and dad will happy with you and Fancy Pants.

Best not to ask a mare her age or how many kids she has too early on - I am sure when they have seen your magnificent feathers and manly gait they will flock to tell you all about themselves:cool:

Oh my dearest Hovis. My heart and thoughts are with you. You have brought your home to life with your tales and we will miss it as you do. But, as others have said, you will have a new home and new special times, your mother will again be happy. Remember, even when you are sad, at least your human is not the bad one of which you write.

Hugs and happy hooves to you my dearest and kindest Destroyer.

Yours, adoringly as ever, The Dizzy One xxxx

Hope youu have moved to your own place , as to me it does sound like youu have brought it on yourself, glad to here your out of everyone way though sound like it was getting nasty.
We had someone who sounded just like youu they moved a few weeks ago. They bought a horse that they were far too overweight for the poor thing and then made the horse have to go for steroid injections the poor horses it was such a waste
then thet wondered why the fellow liverys had something to say about it.
We are bassed in south hampton. Hope that your move brings youu happyness but if it happens again youu know why

And you joined just to say that?

Hope this is your one and only visit to this forum. Take no notice Hovis. I think you and your Mum are brilliant and I look forward to reading about your adventures every week.

Oh Hovis.... if I wasn't so...manly... then I would cry. It sounds like someone has been truly horrid to your mum and that a move is a good thing for you all. as someone who has had more homes than you can know (and unfortunately all of them before I met mum when I was 10) please take it from me that a new home is rarely as scary as it sounds. a few days time and you'll be hooning round the fields like a good'un. Don't worry about the ladies, someone with your looks will have no difficulty attracting them! Don't ask them their age though, that'll just make them cross!

I hope the move went well today and that tonight and now on your mum is happier.

Where exactly is the "lady" in that? Did you join just to be mean? Why?

Good luck Hovis, I don't post on your diary very often but I do make a point of reading it. I hope there is a fantastic filly next room to yours and a moody mare next to Fancy Pants.

BTW it should be you are not "your" in your second line, there is one u in "youu." Please remember capital letters at the start of sentences and for proper nouns. What does "thet" mean or "bassed" ? There is no y in happiness.

We all make mistakes, I think yours was to join this forum. It is not really for nasty people like you.

Judging by "lady"12, you are well off out of there, Hovis & Mum.
I wish you every happiness at the new place. It's a shame that a troll seems to have found its way into your Diary! Treat it with the contempt it deserves!

I joined just to say 'lady12 I'm glad I'm not on your yard' and Hovis, you can come & snuggle up with me any time

Ah Hovis just think how happy you are going to be in your new home and all the fun you will have! Be kind to your mum moving is tough on humans too and it sounds like she's been through a lot lately.

Xxx

Well said - I have a feeling this 'TROLL' may be off Hovis's yard?

Good Luck in your new yard and I hope you are squished between two gorgeous flirty fillies!!:D

Darling Hovis

I hope your new home is all you want, though do wish you were coming to Essex.

As regards meeting new folks, use the Clydesdale - Cairo and now I, have yet to meet anyone who didn't fall in love with us the minute we met them. I have inherited a lot of his fan club, and now have added more members to the "we love big sabino clydesdales" group.

I am sure you and your family will soon fit into the new place and be loved by all.

To Lady12 - I see from your name that you are someone who enjoys irony......... IQ of 12 I don't dispute but Lady? Really?

I would suggest that you do not know me and thus as such you have no idea of my circumstances. As I have never posted of the issues on my last yard in any detail, then you are as ignorant as you are challenged in the spelling and grammar department.

If however you do know me in real life then you will know the reason we, and the large number of people who have left before us, moved on. You may also be advised to remember the saying about the fat lady and her singing..........

To all other lovely HHO-ers, thank you for your lovely words. As always the big man sends his love.
