This weekend I lost my confidant, my mentor and my friend. Wise Timmy died in his field in my dads arms on saturday morning. Aunty sarah and Mum were with him too and the sun had even come out to say goodbye.

The yard has lost its patriarch and we'll all be the worse off for his passing.

You'll be missed wise old man:
Missed by the hundreds of children you taught to ride
Missed for the way your mustache would wiffle over the top of the bars as you snaffled my hay
Missed for the times you and I were in the arena together and played chicken together - two big clydies thundering towards each other
Missed for the way you were alowed to roam the yard untethered to nick the apples off the tree
Missed for the way you'd canter rings round the unsuspecting who'd be told to fetch "old" Timmy from the field.
Missed for the way you sometimes forgot you were supposed to be old and sensible and would buck riders off
Missed for the way ever sunday you'd lie in the field stretched out with charlie in the sunshine
Missed for your wiseness, your softness and for your ability to make anyone who met you smile

Missed more than anything for simply being you.
It appears God wanted one of his equine angels back with him, but Tim if i can give a 10th of the happiness in my lifetime that you gave in yours I will be a happy horse.
Goodnight wise old friend, sleep well and when my time comes wait with Bertie at the gate for me.

Oh, Hovis, I think you'll miss him loads.

You need to learn from his wise old ways and keep the spark of cheekieness alive!

PS see if the humans will let you nick the apples too.

Willough, Floss, Comet and Mani xxxx

Sound like big hooves to fill - but I think your the one to try Hovis - especially the apple eating detail.

Hugs to all.

My thoughts go to all who knew and loved Timmy, Timmy may you run free forever it sounds like you will be very much missed xxx

So sorry to hear this, sounds like Cairo and Timmy will get along fine - both stealing the apples, comparing wiffles and tasches and he will teach Timmy how to barrel race and knock youngsters over for when you finally get to arrive at the big clydesdale heaven where there is unlimited grass and hayledge and big big posts to have a proper sized horse scratch on and lovely places to lie down and snore so loud that you wake the others.

Oh Hovis, I've only just seen this, and you've made me cry.
A truly beautiful tribute to your friend.
Just remember, if he had to go that was the perfect way to do it.
RIP Timmy xx
